Itinerary
DAY 1: Iquitos – Lodge – Jungle walk
Reception at Iquitos airport, short city tour. Transfer to our private harbor to take our speed boat to visit the floating thatch roof houses in the district of “Belen”, located on the edge of the Itaya river,(From November to July) continue traveling down the Amazon River we arrive at the ecological reserve Lodge. The reception will be with a welcome drink made of a typical fruit, accommodation in the bungalows with private bathrooms, typical lunch, a long walk in the primary forest to know and learn about medicinal plants and the wild life of the reserve. Dinner and overnight in the Lodge.
DAY 2: Lodge – Bird Watching – Yagua Indian – Small Zoo.
Early morning, excursion for bird watching on Shansho Cocha. (Hoatzin Lake) Breakfast. Jungle visit to the Yagua community, observing typical dresses (grass skirt) their native language and life styles. Blowgun demonstration and the way how they hunt in times gone by, handicrafts commerce or trading. Typical lunch. Amazon journey to visit a family conservation animal shelter with: sloths, monkeys, turtles, anacondas and constrictor boas. Grey and pink river dolphins watching. Night excursion by canoe to hear rainforest typical sounds.. Dinner. Overnight in the Lodge.
DAY 3: Lodge – Monkey Island.
Breakfast. Amazon trip to visit a private Monkey Conservation Project with different endangered species like maquisapa, Choro, Huapo Negro y Colorado, musmuki, Tocon, Coto Aullador, Pichicos etc. Lodge return. Overnight in the Lodge.
DAY 4: Lodge – Paiches- Lily Pad – Canoeing.
Breakfast. Amazon trip to visit a private Arapaima gigas – Paiche conservation project (The largest fresh- water fish in the Amazon River biggest of the Amazon River). Caimans and Victoria Regia, lily pads. Return to the Lodge. Lunch self-service. Tour in canoe with paddle special for Photos. Overnight in the Lodge.
DAY 5: Lodge – Fishing – Iquitos.
Breakfast and canoe ride for piranha fishing (and other species such as cat fish and sardines). Visit a small village to know their way of living. After which we will return to Lodge and have a typical lunch. Back to Iquitos and to the end of your trip to the lodge. Transfer at hotel or to the airport.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR YOUR TRIP
- Take with you light-colored clothing, windbreaker, hat, goggles, water bottle, hiking shoes, flashlight, mosquitoe repellent, sun block, antihistamines and anti-inflammatory tablets for mosquito bites for your stay in the jungle The use of boots and plastic poncho for the rains is necessary. In the city feel free to wear clothes according to your taste.
- Please let us know about any restriction on your food and / or any health condition you may have to prevent and avoid complications in the jungle excursions.
- Children travel with parents, it is recommended from 3 years onwards.
- Vaccines are not mandatory. All our excursions are developed in non-ENDEMIC areas free of epidemics like malaria, dengue and yellow fever. You can be vaccinated at your 10 days before your trip to the jungle. Ask your Doctor.
- You may leave any extra baggage in our office for the days you will be in the jungle, likewise it is recommended not to carry more than S/. 200 soles for expenses in the lodge. In case of having valuables declare them to the personnel in charge.
- The company is not responsible for losses of objects and accessories that are under your responsibility and that have not been declared or placed in custody, it is recommended to carry in a personal bag (fanny pack, backpack) all these personal objects, as well as documents and money.
- The Lodge, provides electricity from 18:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. to charge batteries of electronic equipment, such as cameras, cell phones, camcorders, among others.
- FOR THE EXCURSIONS: Please pay attentions and follow the indications of the guide for the fulfillment of the excursions. The order of such may vary depending on weather conditions. The average temperature in Iquitos fluctuates between 28° and 35° degrees Celsius.
- It is completely forbidden to carry weapons of any kind that could put your life and others in danger.
- HOTELS IN IQUITOS: If booked directly from you please make the arrangements regarding pick up and drop off times. We do not take responsibility for the breach of the hotel or any other service booked separately.
- IMPORTANT: MANDATORY use of lifejackets during river nocking and / or canoeing. The Travel agency is not responsible for loss, delay or cancellation of flight, applies for transfer by extra city – jungle or accommodation in city by passenger account. There is no refund or night at a city hotel if the passengers returns from the jungle before scheduled date.
- TIMETABLE: City to the Lodge departure every day at 09:00 am and return to Iquitos after lunch. Arrival to Iquitos at 15:45 pm approx.
