Itinerary
DAY 1: Amazon River – Paiche farm – Yagua indian tribe
Reception at Iquitos airport. A tour around downtown the city to get to know the most significant landmarks, some of which are from the rubber boom (subject to arrival time).
Transfer to our private jetty to board the fast boat to Botanical Lodge, on the way we will observe floating houses (Nov-Jul), junction of the rivers Itaya and the Natural Marvel Amazon River, During the transfer we will note various different communities on the banks of the Amazon River, we will make a stop to start the first tour at the Paiche and caiman Farm and observe the world’s largest aquatic plant “Victoria Regia”. A short break to enjoy a refreshing coconut drink, soft drinks, etc. Continuing the journey through the Amazon, arriving to the lodge we will be welcomed with a local drink and will find our rooms. Walk along the path of the medicinal plants knowing the cat’s claw, blood of degree, nail huasca, etc. Typical self-service lunch. Relax. 3:00 p.m. Walk through the jungle until arriving at the native community of the Yaguas, we will know their customs, way of life, participation of the Tourists for the use of the blowpipe or pucuna, return to the lodge by boat, on the way we can observe the Amazonian Sunset. Free time to rest. Dinner. Use of the refreshing swimming pool. Overnight at Botanical Lodge.
DAY 2: Giant tree – Visit to small village
Canoe ride or morning walk according to the season, watching birds in their habitat. Breakfast. Walk through the jungle of the giant trees, to know the impressive Ceiba (Lupuna). Return to the lodge. Typical self-service lunch. In the afternoon, tour the Amazon River and visit the village of San Juan, where we will learn about its small school and the daily activities of its residents, fruit plants and plantain, etc. Evening canoe ride according to the season, listening to the sounds of the rainforest. Dinner. Overnight at Botanical Lodge.
DAY 3: Artisanal Trapiche
Breakfast. Start tour on the Amazon River and visit to artisanal Trapiche, demonstration and participation of tourists in the extraction of sugarcane juice that the inhabitants use to make derivatives such as rum and molasses. Recreational fishing on the banks of the river. Return to the lodge. Typical self-service lunch. In the afternoon observation of the Amazon River, watching the jungle sunset depending on the weather conditions. Dinner and overnight at Botanical Lodge.
DAY 4: Visit to wild animals rescue center – Indiana town – Iquitos
Breakfast. Visit to coastal villager who preserves certain animals like anacondas of water and earth, lazy bear, turtles, parrots, toucan among others at designated time. Return to Amazonas Botanical Lodge, typical self-service lunch to then start heading for the city of Iquitos. On the way, we will stop in the Indiana district on the banks of the Amazon, to visit the Plaza de Armas, Church, and Market, time for a short walk, photography and purchase of products of the jungle. Continue the trip to the city of Iquitos. Transfer to hotel or airport.

Recommendations
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR YOUR TRIP
- Take with you light-colored clothing, windbreaker, hat, goggles, water bottle, hiking shoes, flashlight, mosquitoe repellent, sun block, antihistamines and anti-inflammatory tablets for mosquito bites for your stay in the jungle The use of boots and plastic poncho for the rains is necessary. In the city feel free to wear clothes according to your taste.
- Please let us know about any restriction on your food and / or any health condition you may have to prevent and avoid complications in the jungle excursions.
- Children travel with parents, it is recommended from 3 years onwards.
- Vaccines are not mandatory. All our excursions are developed in non-ENDEMIC areas free of epidemics like malaria, dengue and yellow fever. You can be vaccinated at your 10 days before your trip to the jungle. Ask your Doctor.
- You may leave any extra baggage in our office for the days you will be in the jungle, likewise it is recommended not to carry more than S/. 200 soles for expenses in the lodge. In case of having valuables declare them to the personnel in charge.
- The company is not responsible for losses of objects and accessories that are under your responsibility and that have not been declared or placed in custody, it is recommended to carry in a personal bag (fanny pack, backpack) all these personal objects, as well as documents and money.
- The Lodge, provides electricity from 18:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. to charge batteries of electronic equipment, such as cameras, cell phones, camcorders, among others.
- FOR THE EXCURSIONS: Please pay attentions and follow the indications of the guide for the fulfillment of the excursions. The order of such may vary depending on weather conditions. The average temperature in Iquitos fluctuates between 28° and 35° degrees Celsius.
- It is completely forbidden to carry weapons of any kind that could put your life and others in danger.
- HOTELS IN IQUITOS: If booked directly from you please make the arrangements regarding pick up and drop off times. We do not take responsibility for the breach of the hotel or any other service booked separately.
- IMPORTANT: MANDATORY use of lifejackets during river nocking and / or canoeing. The Travel agency is not responsible for loss, delay or cancellation of flight, applies for transfer by extra city – jungle or accommodation in city by passenger account. There is no refund or night at a city hotel if the passengers returns from the jungle before scheduled date.
- TIMETABLE: City to the Lodge departure every day at 09:00 am and return to Iquitos after lunch. Arrival to Iquitos at 15:45 pm approx.
