The classic journey that allows us to know the city inside is the following: The best place to begin is the Bolognesi Square, very close to the passage Jerusalem where a Christ's sculpture of 18 mts exists. Then, we go to the Main Square (before called Weapons Square), later we go down by Grau street where many old and typical housings exist, the Bellavista Square in the way to the Tumbes river, where we'll find the monument to the kiss, continuous our journey with an impressive view of the valley and the Tumbes river until arriving to the Mother's boulevard. We continue visiting the Mirador Palo Santo, tourist place where we can find the best panoramic of the city, the valley, the geography and nature of the Department of Tumbes.

The Mirador Palo Santo is in the highest hill, near the city of Tumbes and there we observe the encounter of the nature with the geography, how the coast changes from humid (swamp eco-system ) to dry one; how from the hills area change to an immense plain and when we visit the conservation area traveling different paths we will meet with a not very common forest where a sample of the tropical dry forest exists in frank recovery, which is allowing the return of significant fauna, especially birds fauna, investigations carried out by ornithologists in the month of May 2000 have been found more of 30 species but 6 of them are in situation of risk, we have also observed anthill bears and coastal foxes.
