Pacaya Samiria Adventure 5 days 4 nights

Cod Pac-Sam003

Day One: IQUITOS / LODGE

Reception at the airport by one of our bilingual guides. Transfer to the town of Nauta, the first population founded by the Spaniards on the shores of the Marañón River. The trip approximately lasts 1.30h on a road of 90 kilometers (55 miles), totally asphalted. In Nauta, you will be embarked in PSAL boats to visit the confluence of the Ucayali and Marañón rivers, the head of the Amazon River. Enjoy the spectacular view of the Amazon River from a 100 feet watching tower. Arrival to the lodge and accommodation. Lunch. In the afternoon, we will make a hike through the rainforest that surrounds the lodge to appreciate rainforest flora and fauna. Depending of the climate conditions, we will observe a beautiful sunset from our watch-tower. Dinner and briefing about the activities of the next day. Night at PSAL.

Day Two: PACAYA SAMIRIA NATIONAL RESERVE (PSNR)

Jungle wild dawn. Birdwatching. Breakfast. Departure to the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve (PSNR). We will make a trip by boat to Nauta Creek and the surrounding lakes to observe flora, aquatic birds, gray and pink dolphins, monkeys, sloths, aquatic turtles, among others. Lunch (Box Lunch).  Return to PSNL. Dinner at PSAL and briefing about the activities of the next day. Night at PSAL.

Day Three and Four: PACAYA SAMIRIA NATIONAL RESERVE (PSNR)

Jungle wild dawn. Birdwatching. Breakfast. Departure to the PSNR. During these days, we will explore the Yanayacu river area, in the PSNR. This area has been recently opened to tourism, so the fauna and flora is more abundant than in other areas. Chance to observe flora and fauna (pink and gray dolphins, aquatic birds, sloths, monkeys, and macaws). The first thing that gets the attention of the visitor is that the water of rivers and lakes reflects, with the fidelity of a mirror, the sky and the clouds, the vegetation of the shores and the big trees, that the visitor has the sensation of navigating through endless mirrors of waters. That is why the PSNR is known as the Jungle of the Mirrors. Activities include trekking in primary forest, observation of flora and fauna, excursions in lakes (swimming, Piranha fishing, canoe rides), visit to a riverbank village to know more about the lifestyle of the river people and their daily activities, nocturnal excursions to spot alligators and to hear the sounds of the night, among others. Accommodation is in tents, in river beaches or in the forest. On the afternoon of day 4, we will return to the lodge. Dinner. Night at PSAL.

Day Five: LODGE / IQUITOS

Breakfast. Lunch. Departure to the city of Iquitos. Arrival at time to board your flight.
